What makes us different
What Makes Vertica CRM So Special?
Clients often ask how we can offer so much, a full-featured CRM, a custom website, SEO and ongoing support, at such a reasonable cost. The answer is how we're built: lean overhead, an in-house full-stack team and decades of experience in business brokerage. Here's what makes Vertica CRM (formerly Business Brokers CRM) different.

Quick answer
Vertica CRM (formerly Business Brokers CRM) delivers a full-featured CRM for business brokers at a reasonable cost because it runs with very little overhead and has its own in-house, full-stack development team. The same team handles CRM customization, website design, WordPress development, SEO, GEO and security, and the Vertica Sites hub adds 177 features across 19 categories, so every client gets a custom front end and a custom CRM back end, from startups with one or two brokers to firms with more than 20. Vertica has full control of its entire codebase, so it can modify the platform on the fly, and each client runs on its own single-tenant platform with its own database. The system is shaped by client feedback and by decades of experience selling businesses and building commercial web applications, and clients are treated as long-term partners rather than accounts.
One of the questions I'm asked most often is simple: how do you offer so many services at such a low cost?
It's a fair question. Business brokers are used to paying separately for a CRM, a website designer, an SEO consultant and someone to keep it all secure, and they're used to none of those people talking to each other. So when they see everything in one place at a price that makes sense, they wonder what the catch is.
There isn't one. It comes down to how we're built.
We're lean by design, so more of what you pay goes into the product and the service.

How we deliver more for less

Very little overhead
We run with very little overhead. There are no layers of management or expensive sales machinery to pay for, so we don't have to pass those costs on to our clients.
A full-stack, in-house development team
Many CRM vendors outsource their development, their websites or their support. We don't. Our in-house team covers the full stack: CRM development and customization, website design, WordPress development, search engine optimization and security. When you need something changed, you're talking to the people who can change it.
Full control of the entire codebase
Some CRMs sold to business brokers are a candy coating of brokerage features on top of another CRM platform, owned by another company. Those vendors can only change what the underlying platform allows, and they pay that company for the privilege. We have full control of our entire codebase, so we can modify the platform on the fly: customize it for each client, add features quickly and apply security updates promptly when a vulnerability is discovered in the underlying technology. (How Vertica CRM protects your data.)
A side effect matters to your budget, too. Because we don't pay another CRM vendor for the platform underneath, we can keep our pricing even more competitive.
A single-tenant platform for every client
Most cloud software is multi-tenant: every customer shares one system and one database, and everyone gets the same software. Vertica CRM uses a single-tenant model instead. Each client runs on its own platform, with its own database and its own code base.
That's what makes truly unique customization possible. Changes built for your firm are made to your platform, without affecting anyone else's. It also strengthens security: because no two clients share the same database or the same code base, your clients' confidential information is never stored alongside another firm's.
Everything under one roof

Our goal is to give each client a complete branding, design and technology experience, built on real business know-how. That means one team handles:
| Service | What it includes | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Custom CRM | Pipelines, fields, templates and workflows configured around your methodology | The system fits how your firm already works |
| Website design | A custom design that reflects your brand | Your firm looks established and professional |
| WordPress development | A self-manageable site that's easy to update | Change listings and content without calling a developer |
| CRM and website integration | Listings, registration, NDAs and forms connected to the CRM | Information entered once appears everywhere |
| SEO | Keyword research, local search targeting, schema markup and content gap analysis | Sellers and buyers find you on Google |
| GEO (generative engine optimization) | Content structured so AI answer engines like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews can understand and quote it | Owners who ask AI tools for a broker can find you |
| Social media and content | AI-drafted articles and social posts, including blind listing teasers, with scheduling | Consistent marketing without hours of writing |
| Security | Firewalls, backups and prompt updates | Your clients' confidential information stays protected |
| Ongoing support | Help from people who know your setup | Problems get solved, not passed around |
The Vertica Sites hub: SEO, GEO and 177 tools in one place

SEO and GEO: get found on Google and quoted by AI
More owners now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews questions like “how do I sell my business?” Optimizing content so those AI answer engines can understand and quote it is called generative engine optimization, or GEO. (Don't confuse it with the hub's GEO Targeting feature, which is geographic targeting for local SEO. Brokers need both.)
Vertica Sites' blog tools score each article for traditional SEO and for GEO, and can add Q&A sections, definition boxes and FAQ schema, so AI tools can understand and quote your content. No tool can guarantee that an AI system will cite you, but clear, structured content makes it far more likely. This article uses the same approach: a quick answer at the top, tables and an FAQ. (For the full story, read your web browser is a crime scene, and for how AI is changing brokerage, see navigating the AI revolution.)
A custom front end and a custom back end, for every client
We provide top-tier professional service to business brokers of every size, from startups with one or two brokers to firms with more than 20 active brokers. Every client gets a custom-built website on the front end and a custom CRM on the back end, configured around the way their firm works. No two of our clients' systems look exactly alike, because no two brokerages work exactly alike. (See who uses Vertica CRM.)
That's also why buyer registration, NDAs, data rooms and listings can follow each firm's own rules. (For one example, see let's talk buyer registrations.)
You get what you pay for
There are other CRMs out there, and some cost less. But the old saying holds: you get what you pay for. Over the years, some brokers have chosen another vendor, only to come back to us six months to a year later, frustrated, having lost time, money and momentum.
We'd rather you choose carefully the first time. Do your research, compare vendors and ask hard questions. Look for a company with real expertise in both business brokerage and technology, because a CRM vendor that only understands one of the two will eventually let you down. (Our checklist of questions to ask any CRM company is a good place to start.)
Features you haven't thought of yet
Because we've lived the business, we can often suggest features and processes brokers haven't considered, ideas that come from seeing how hundreds of brokerages work. And because we listen, many of our features come directly from client feedback. When one client's idea makes the platform better, every client benefits. (More in challenging the status quo.)
Partners, not a number
Some vendors treat clients with a “Who's next?” attitude: sign the contract, move on to the next sale. We don't work that way. Our clients are partners and part of the Vertica CRM family. We know their firms, we know their processes, and we're invested in their success for the long term.
Decades of experience in brokerage and technology
Our team brings decades of experience in the field. Between us, we've sold hundreds of businesses, and we've built and maintained hundreds of different kinds of commercial web applications. That combination is rare. We understand the brokerage process from the inside, and we have the technical skill to turn that understanding into software.
That's why we're more than a CRM and web design company. We're a company with deep roots in the niche brokerage community, offering top-of-the-line service built specifically for business brokers.
What's changed since 2016
Everything that made us special in 2016 still does. Here's what's new:
- A new name. Business Brokers CRM is now Vertica CRM: the same team and the same focus on business brokers and M&A advisors.
- A family of services. Vertica Sites for broker websites and marketing, Business Brokers SEO for search and social media, Vertica Sign for document signing, Vertica Leads for buyer outreach and Vertica People for staff who work inside your CRM.
- A dedicated onboarding team. Every client gets a project manager, an onboarding specialist and a training coordinator. (How onboarding works.)
- AI built in-house. Because we have full control of our codebase, we can add AI where it genuinely helps, like the AI CIM generator, which drafts a CIM in minutes from the data already in the CRM.

How does Vertica CRM offer so much at a reasonable cost?
Vertica CRM runs with very little overhead and has its own in-house, full-stack development team, so it doesn't pay outside agencies for development, websites, SEO or security, and doesn't pass those costs on to clients.
Is Vertica CRM a layer on top of another company's CRM?
No. Vertica has full control of its entire codebase and modifies it with its own in-house team. It is not a brokerage layer on top of a CRM platform owned by another company, so it can customize the system for each client, add features quickly, apply security updates promptly and avoid paying another CRM vendor, which helps keep pricing competitive.
What does single-tenant mean, and why does it matter?
In a single-tenant model, each client runs on its own platform instance with its own database and its own code base, instead of sharing one system with every other customer. Vertica CRM uses a single-tenant model, so each client's platform can be customized uniquely, and security is stronger because no two customers share the same database or code base.
Does Vertica CRM build websites for business brokers?
Yes. Every client gets a custom-built website on the front end, connected to a custom CRM on the back end, with listings, buyer registration, NDAs and forms integrated. Websites are built on WordPress and are self-manageable.
What size brokerages does Vertica CRM work with?
Vertica CRM works with brokerages of every size, from startups with one or two brokers to firms with more than 20 active brokers, as well as M&A advisory firms.
What is GEO, and does Vertica help with it?
GEO, or generative engine optimization, means structuring content so AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews can understand and quote it. It is different from geographic (local) targeting, which Vertica Sites also includes. Vertica Sites scores articles for SEO and GEO and can add Q&A sections, definition boxes and FAQ schema. No tool can guarantee an AI system will cite you.
What is included in the Vertica Sites hub?
Vertica Sites includes 177 features across 19 categories, with no long-term contract: a website built and hosted for you, SEO tools including local GEO targeting, AI content and image generation, email and SMS marketing, social media scheduling and auto-publishing, live chat and an AI chatbot, appointment scheduling with calendar sync, workflow automation, video testimonials, analytics and Google Ads management.
Is Vertica CRM the same as Business Brokers CRM?
Yes. Business Brokers CRM is now Vertica CRM, with the same team and the same focus on business brokers and M&A advisors.
How should I choose between CRM vendors?
Research carefully and choose once. Look for a vendor with expertise in both business brokerage and technology, ask to see your own process in the demo, find out who will set up and support your system, and ask for references from firms like yours.
